Dead Disco are a band with a unique style, a dark dance floor indie feeling that
will no doubt consume your soul eventually. Don’t let the word ‘disco’ put you
off, because these girls are all rock ‘n’ roll! Having secured the main line-up
in the latter stages of 2005, the band have since built a great reputation from
their live performances & great songs, even having some of the top media
admiration to go with it (NME & Steve Lamacq to name drop a couple!). With such
single releases as ‘City Place’, ‘The Treatment’ and forthcoming single
‘Automatic’, Dead Disco are bound to work their way onto your player in some
form! The band has the potential to become your favourite new band before the
start of next year, which could well be a huge year for them indeed.
The
Fratellis
Welcome to the band that play the songs that will inhabit your consciousness for
at least the next year, if not longer. The Fratellis hail from Glasgow, and have
announced their presence with the single ‘Creeping Up The Backstairs’ &
‘Henrietta’ which have to be noted as some of the most catchy songs around, this
year. Becoming new favourites on MTV2, as well as international airplay where it
really matters. They release their debut album later this year, and will no
doubt go down a treat at the Carling Reading/Leeds festival, if you get a chance
go see this band while they still play near your town, as global domination is
just around the corner for them.
Orca
This Plymouth based band have made a name for themselves with their
post-hardcore sound since starting out in 2001. Their fantastic energetic live
sets really showed their passion in their aggressive sound. The band took a bold
step in 2005 by announcing they would no longer play their older material live
and have since been plotting their new revolutionary sound to set their loyal
fans alight! This band could well go nationwide again, with their new more
mature emotional rock sound.
